College friends get together

It's not very often when my college friends and I are able to get together. We scattered all over the place once we all graduated but I always look forward to the times when we can all get together, even if it is only for a short time. We keep growing in numbers as well with the birth of everyone's children. Here are some pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to take one of all of us together.

My favorite band in the history of bands. I love these guys and every time I get to meet them, I get so excited. Jenni and I both won the Capital 106.3 contest to meet the band and also sit in on a short acoustic performance. The first time I saw Needtobreathe was a little over 5 years ago at a free concert and I was blown away. I love that I've been able to see them on the small stage many times and watch the size of the crowds grow.

For the evening show, a few of my closest friends joined us in Ames. We stopped at Great Plains Pizza for dinner! YUM!

Ben Rector opened the show and did an amazing job. He's so fun to watch and I love his music. He even threw in his "newest" song as well as I Wanna Dance (With Somebody) by Whitney Houston.

Then it was Needtobreathe's turn. This was the most produced stage show I'd ever seen from them and I LOVED it. I prefer smaller venues but it was really fun to see this show and watch them perform their newest cd The Reckoning. One thing I've always been impressed with at their shows (besides Bo's dancing) is when they shut off their microphones and we get to hear only their voices. Pure gold. They ran in to some technical issues which allowed them to do just that, just sing. I love that they rep Jesus and continue to stay true to who they are. I can't wait for their next show! Until we meet again.

Trampolines everywhere!!!! Approximately 70 of us rented SkyZone in Grimes one Friday night and got our jump on. We had a blast and thankfully no one in our group was hurt! (I can't say the same for the group after us). We jumped for an hour: some played dodgeball, some jumped into a foam pit, some practiced their slam dunk, some did flips, and some just jumped their hearts out. OR, in the case of Ryan Way, some face planted while trying to jump off the wall... We had a grand time and I can't wait to go back and burn more calories.
