Trost Christmas

Every year the Trost relatives get together for Christmas and there is ALWAYS some sort of competition. This year was no exception. My aunt Laurie planned the games this year based off of the TV show Minute To Win It. There were 4 teams and 9 rounds. My team was exceptionally good at anything involving bouncing ping pong balls into cups or knocking cups off a table with balloons. Although we didn't win, I still walked away with a Target gift card so I was pleased. It was a heated battle until the very end and I think everyone had fun. Thanks Laurie for all the work you did. It was a fun afternoon with great family.

Farm Crawl 2011

Disclaimer: These next few posts are extremely old but we have shotty internet and I'm just now able to 1) find time to get this updated and 2) have a solid internet connection. :)
We were blessed with another beautiful day on the Farm Crawl this year. The sun was shining and everyone was in good spirits. We all met for breakfast before we headed out on the road. Jenni and I were lucky enough to be passengers in the Meyer vehicle. Justin was full of puns which made the road trip that much more fun. We were smart and headed to the apple orchard first where we ate some super delicious apple crisp, pie, caramel apples, and shucked some corn. From there we headed out to the other various farms to sample goat cheeses, take a hay rack ride, hay bail jumping competitions (just Trent and Scott), donkey races, browsing pumpkins patches, eatting more caramel apples, roaming through mazes, and taking LOTS of pictures! It was such a fun day with friends.

Wartburg vs. Central Roadtrip

Justin, Allison, Kate, Ed, JP, Jenni, and I hit the road one Saturday afternoon for the Wartburg vs. Central football game. The weather was perfect, emotions were running high, and my dad was reffing the game. JP and Kate were cheering for Central, Ed and Allison were cheering for Wartburg. I didn't pledge my allegiance to either team but cheered for my dad instead. ha. During half time, we walked around Wartburg's campus and even built a pyramid (Kate's idea) The game was pretty heated with Central coming back in the 4th to tie the game, only to have Wartburg score again to take the lead. The final play found a Central receiver dropping the ball in the end zone.. Central lost. JP was heart broken.
I didn't get a chance to talk to my dad after the game but I waved and he waved back. Ran in to momma Julie though so that was fun. On our way home, we pretty much discussed ice breakers in the car, namely, if you had to be on Dancing with the Stars, who would be your Celebrity partner? Condoleeza Rice anyone? There were SO many funny conversations from that roadtrip, I wish I could relive that weekend over again. Yeah College Football!
