Working hard or hardly working...

So, this was the conversation that transpired between a coworker and myself following the viewing a recent pictures posted of Rob Pattinson in LA yesterday:

Jill: I LOVE that flannel that he has!
Christie: WOW!!!! He resembles JT in these pics. I wonder if he is getting fitted for his colored contacts??
Jill: Can you imagine being his eye doctor? You get to just stare at his eyes for however long you deem necessary… and get paid for it.
Christie: I wonder if the eye doctor has to wear some special glasses to keep from being dazzled by him?! Actually, I see it going something like this…Rob: "Um, is it normal to touch lips with the patient while giving them an eye exam? And aren't you supposed to use some equipment to examine my eyes versus just looking at them really closely with your own? " "Are you running your fingers through my hair?" "Why is the room dark?" HAHAHAHA
Jill: I would just sit on his lap and play with his hair
Christie: Oh, and one more… "Are you nuzzling my neck?" : ) Actually I would probably just faint like Bella

Happy Presidents Day

The greatest number of presidents were born in Virginia—eight.
Abraham Lincoln was the tallest president, measuring 6 feet, 4 inches. James Madison was a foot shorter, making him history’s shortest U.S. president and the only one to weigh less than 100 pounds.
John Quincy Adams swam daily on the Potomac River.
James Garfield not only wrote with both hands and spoke several languages, but he could also write Greek with one hand while writing Latin with the other.
Recently, presidential pets have been limited to dogs and cats (e.g., Millie, Socks, Barney). But the White House has sheltered a variety of creatures throughout history, including sheep to trim the White House lawn (Woodrow Wilson), an alligator (John Quincy Adams) and a mockingbird (Thomas Jefferson). James Buchanan and Martin Van Buren even received elephants and tiger cubs, respectively, from foreign leaders.
William Henry Harrison gave the longest inauguration speech in presidential history, an action that helped create the shortest tenure in presidential history. Harrison stood out in the bitter cold delivering his nearly two-hour-long speech, which lead to pneumonia and then death a mere month after his inauguration.
Gerald Ford did some modeling in the pages of Look and Cosmopolitan magazines in the early 1940s.
Presidential Firsts and Exclusives

George Washington was the only president elected unanimously by the Electoral College.
Martin Van Buren was the first president born a U.S. citizen (he was born shortly after the signing of the Declaration of Independence).
James Polk was the first to have his photograph taken.
Benjamin Harrison was the first to install electricity in the White House and the first to attend a baseball game while in office.
Grover Cleveland was the only president to serve two inconsecutive terms in office.
William Taft began the tradition of throwing out the first pitch of the baseball season.
Richard Nixon was the first to visit all 50 states.
Jimmy Carter was the first U.S. president born in a hospital.
Barack Obama was the first African-American elected to the highest office in the country.

Shall I jump on the bandwagon with my 25 random things...

25 Random Things

1. When I was younger, I was very protective over my pig tails. They had to be perfect in my hair and I always had to have my hair that way. They also could never get wet. We went to Adventureland once and I was forced on to the log ride... my pig tails were destroyed by water. I was devastated for weeks!

2. For a majority of my childhood, I thought I was Maria from The Sound of Music. My dream is to run through the hills of Austria singing "The Hills Are Alive" at the top of my lungs. (btw, its gonna happen!)

3. I love live music... no matter who the artist. I'm that person who would rather spend her money on a concert rather than clothes. I've seen some great shows... and some not so great shows. Actually I love music in general. My itunes can play for 14.2 days straight and never play the same song twice!!!!

4. I'm an Apple product junkie. I love everything that Apple makes and proud to have been raised on the Macintosh Apple computers!

5. I don't think its a coincidence that my name has the same first and last initials as Justin Timberlake!

6. I wish I liked coffee, but I don't. I wish I liked dark soda like pepsi or coke, but I don't. I wish I liked chocolate milk or hot chocolate, but I don't. Basically, I don't like any sort of dark liquid and I can't drink caffeine... it does weird things to me.

7. I easily obsess over things. Case in point: N'Sync; Twilight; Justin Timberlake; Robert Pattinson; jeans; the Jonas Brothers; sunglasses; NeedtoBreathe; Apple Computers; etc SO, going off that obsession thing, my bedroom walls in high school were covered from floor to ceiling with nsync and justin timberlake posters. I had tshirts, magazines, key chains, hats, all kinds of things.... I spent countless hours recording every tv show where nsync made an appearance.. and then I dubbed out all the commercials. I've seen them or JT in concert 7 times so... you could probably say I take obsession to a whole new level!

8. I cry very easily. Once I was watching ESPN with my younger brother and there was a special on this boy with some sort of disability and how he's coped with life. My brother looked over at me and said "Are you crying? This is ESPN!" I can't help myself and now with the start of American Idol... some of those stories of the contestants just break me!

9. I love to travel and if I won the lottery, I would do nothing else but that! My favorite city in the US is Chicago and my favorite city in the world is London. (Those are subject to change pending future trips b/c I haven't been everywhere...yet!)

10. I have 2 brothers and I've never in my life wanted a sister. I feel more comfortable around guys, probably because I'm a sports nut. I love the Chicago Cubs and David Wright who plays for the NY Mets. I've grown up around baseball my entire life. I could sit and watch a baseball game in the summer every day! There's no place like Wrigley Field in the summertime.

11. I think I have the funniest, wittiest friends in the entire world. It's true, you should meet some of them. You'll pee your pants from laughter.

12. I worked for a summer camp called Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, Missouri during the summers of college. The friends I made there and the things I learned changed my life.

13. In college I was part of an elite dance company called Adagio. When I was younger, I had to choose between gymnastics or dance and I chose gymnastics. SO, when I got to college, I made up for the lost dancing time with Adagio and left everything I had on the dance floor during every performance. It's one of my greatest memories of college.

14. I'm a sucker for teen movies. I could watch She's the Man every day and never be bored. I LOVE the Jonas Brothers and High School Musical and I'd really like to be a backup dancer in one of the Step Up movies.

15. I'm terrible at crafts. I try to enjoy them but I really don't. I made a scarf once so I consider that good in the craft department. I hate decorating, coordinating, or trying to put things together. I'm no good at it so I usually make my friends handle it. When I have to decorate my own house some day, I'm going to rip a page out of Pottery Barn, take it in to the store and say "I want that."

16. I don't like talking on the phone or texting really. I think I'm much funnier in person (ha)

17. Target is an incredible store.. I dream about it. I can't walk in there without walking out with at least 2 bags full of something awesome.

18. No joke, when I was about 8, for an entire day I thought I could move things with my mind. Like if I stared at something long enough, I could fling it across the room. I sat in my bed that night and stared at my light switch, when it didn't do anything I stuck my hand out thinking I could use the force with my hands. I must have eventually fell asleep but when I woke up the light was off. How do you explain that one?!

19. I LOVED Barbies when I was a little girl. I would play with them every day and had my own ongoing story line. I used to sneak out of my bed in the middle of the night just to keep playing. I once slept in my barbie house.... my dad built it, so it was huge!

20. I love any food thats orange! I would eat orange candy all day if it was healthy for you.

21. On a spring break trip to Las Vegas, my friend Hayley and I laid out at the pools at the MGM from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm that evening. We ate our lunch and snacks there and never left the pool area the entire day. We were pretty tan.

22. I love to take pictures... it's my form of crafts. I have picture albums stacked up in my closet, I always have my camera in my purse, and I'm not afraid to stick my camera in somebody's face to take their picture. I've started making photo books for every year. You should make it your goal to get in my photo book!

23. I would love to work for the Olympics some day. I'm not sure what exact job I would like but just being involved with it would be a dream job. I'm hoping the Olympics come to Chicago so I can go watch an event! I also really want to write something... but I'm not sure what exactly.

24. I have really low potassium levels and usually have to keep bananas on hand. It used to be really bad when I was younger and I had a hard time sleeping because I'd constantly have cramps in my legs. I'd have to see the doctor almost every month. Thankfully, that has seemed to pass.

25. Jesus is the reason I exist and the most important thing in my life. That's not really a random thing but it's worth writing.

Funny things I heard today...

Scenario 1: Christie opening up her Dove chocolate bar and reading the message aloud: Mine says "share a sunset with a vampire" to which Tammy responds "Nu uhhhh?! Seriously!! (with the most serious look on her face.) I about died laughing!

Scenario 2: I don't remember where this came from but I about spit out my gum when I read it: Two cannibals were eatting a comedian and one of them turns to the other one and asks "Does this taste funny to you?"

Scenario 3: This was forwarded to me by a coworker.... it just puts an awesome visual in my head: You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart. The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you remember: you've been listening to your iPod.

aahhhh, another day in the life.
